The Post-Graduate Diploma in Education course is a 1-year program aimed at providing a broad training background for general graduates who wish to take up teaching as a profession. As part of the program, learners are required to complete 18 units which are inclusive of student projects and teaching practice in a span of three stages. This innovative program seeks to train learners by equipping them with the needed professional qualifications and expertise necessary to successfully carry out their responsibilities as teachers or managers in various fields of education. The trainees must choose two teaching subjects taught in Kenya secondary schools.
The trainees specialize in the their respective subjects of choice which must feature in their undergraduate transcripts. To qualify, one must have a minimum of eight teaching subjects for each unit
A candidate should have a minimum qualification of a first degree from a recognized university and would wish to take teaching as a profession.
Furthermore, a candidate should have studied at least two subjects taught in secondary schools in Kenya
